The terrifying moment a house slid down a hill during a landslide in India on Thursday. All 40 residents had already been evacuated from the building in Mercara in Karnataka and no lives were lost. Eyewitnesses said the house, located near the well-known landmark, Muthappa Temple, had been rented out by its owner to families. Officials said more than 100 homes have collapsed in the last three days in Coorg district where Mercara is situated. Large parts of South India including Kerala and parts of Karnataka have been battered by heavy rains for a week, triggering floods and landslides and causing death and destruction of property.
