The route on the left is what has always been used in NG+ Any%, basically choosing HW Prototype 12 and Jet Boosters, and getting from point to point as fast as possible. However, I discovered this new Hypermite strategy a while back, because I knew certain cars with certain gadgets could shoot through walls. To my knowledge, only Deora II and Hypermite can shoot through this wall with the Atom Blaster. This is because of the fact that gadgets are mounted very far to the front of both vehicles, which allows you to clip the barrel of the Atom Blaster through the normally impenetrable wall to spawn the atoms on the other side of the wall to damage the rocket without activating multiple cutscenes. Hypermite also has the height necessary to shoot the rocket easier. I was surprised that this is faster than using HW Prototype 12, but it makes sense, considering this skips so many cutscenes. As you may know, this same type of thing is done in Cheats runs, but with the Quantum Annihilator, because it can shoot through gray walls regardless. I also could have done the Hypermite strategy better than shown in the video, which means this would probably save 10 seconds minimum, or even more than that.
