here's a little meme kinda showing how Kabber lost his heart and got a cool, new magic one
For those of you who don’t know, Kabber was a traveling magician and tarot reader. He used his magic (“solidifying” air to create platforms) in his performances, and he was well-loved because of his friendly, charismatic attitude.
Unfortunately, not everyone loved him, as there were some who had deep prejudices against Alkarnabi (his species). One day he used his magic to save someone’s life, giving him some fame in the town he was currently at. The local papers referred to him as “the golden-hearted Nabi”.
These prejudiced people did not like that, and decided to take matters into their own hands. They kidnapped him after one of his shows and decided they’d give him an ironic death: tearing out his heart.
After these people left him for dead, something strange happened. His magic refused to let him die, and created a new artificial heart from him out of pure magic. This is why his blood is glittery gold, because magic is being pumped through his veins. There was another side-effect, though. Because his heart wasn’t truly solid, anything that makes his heart speed up (strong emotions, exercise, etc) causes him tons of pain.
He had to give up his shows after that and is still coping with the trauma of it all.
