Hot, humid summer weather can make it harder to stay properly hydrated, and many people may not be drinking enough water each day. Dietitian Dr. Theresa DeLorenzo said small changes can help people increase their fluid intake and adjust over time.

Dr. DeLorenzo is an avid runner, and during the summer months, she aims for “probably more like 100 to 120” ounces of water per day. DeLorenzo said building the habit can make it easier to keep up. “I think the more you drink, the more you remember to because your body sort of signals you. It’s used to it,” she said.
