Additional tips:
* "Gentle" horses won't buck, but they always have worse stats than the solid-colored ones.
* The best horses in the game are found in Upland Lindor (the exact spot this video takes place in) and the Taobab Grasslands (where the Giant Horse resides)
* The ice arrow method doesn't work with deer, because they have such a tiny health pool that even the weakest bow in the game will kill them. You'll end up with a frozen slab of meat instead of a ridable mount. (Deer have 10 HP. Ice arrows deal 10 DMG plus the damage from the bow, so you would have to find a bow that deals negative damage to make a deer survive an icy shot.)
* Never use multishot bows for the ice arrow method - not only do they deal a ton of damage compared to single-shot bows; the "second arrow" will also always deal three times as much damage to frozen enemies/animals. You're very likely to accidentally kill the horse that way.
* Stealing the horse of a Rider Bokoblin will net you a 100% tame, obedient horse right from the start, but they always have bad stats.
* The fastest shields for surfing are the Shield of the Mind's Eye, Radiant Shield and Ancient Shield - all of them have reduced friction (a hidden value not visible without hacking the game) so they'll usually go faster even on uneven terrain. If it's raining like in the clip, you'll also go a bit faster with any other shield.
* If it's dark, horses won't notice you as quickly, so the darkness theoretically helps you with catching them ... but Keese and Stal-enemies are just as likely to mess up your sneaking attempts, which is especially annoying in areas that feature electric or ice Keese.
* If you're adamant on bluntly running down a wild horse; "Night Speed Up" from certain armor sets and regular speed up bonuses from food might help.
* If you're running out of stamina mid-taming, simply pause your game and eat something that replenishes stamina. You don't need stamina upgrades or temporary boosts from "Enduring Food" if you simply have enough regular stamina foodstuff in your inventory.
