On September 6th at Sunderland dog track owned by William Hill bookmakers -- 'Maglass Promise' DID NOT FINISH
The 3 year black female fell shortly after leaving the traps -- colliding with 2 other dogs in what was only a 4 dogs race.
Presenter Jonathan Kay commentated "Apparently the weather is absolutely horrific -- horizontal rain -- so there's nothing that can obviously be done so we just hope for the best"
Neither Kay nor his fellow presenters showed any concern for the dog's welfare and in fact - found the whole situation comical - bursting out in fits of laughter.
Bizarrely just 8 miles west of Sunderland - Pelaw Grange dog track cancelled their race meeting after just 4 races.
