Thanks to The Coalition and Xbox, I had the opportunity to participate in the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta Preview. One of the modes I was able to experience was the brand-new Horde Siege, briefly showcased during the June Direct.
Horde Siege is a complete departure from the classic Horde formula. Instead of fighting through fifty waves on a single multiplayer map, players and three teammates are deployed into the streets of Kalona, where they'll complete their primary objective while taking on optional side missions and additional objectives.
During each mission, players may also encounter two other squads of four, creating unique interactions before racing to the extraction point once the main objective is complete.
Horde Siege is currently divided into four mission types based on their duration: Onboarding, Blitz, Siege and Horde.
