This was the first model of Hoover Ranger manufactured in the 1970s with a slightly more modern look than its predecessor. It was soon followed by the Avocado Green model made famous by the Shake N Vac TV commercial.
The U4002 had a bottom fill bag, whereas the U4014 had a top fill bag, but apart from that, they are very similar cleaners.
