[Post SB return 2x09] Cora takes revenge on Hook by erasing his memory. Emma finds out and decides to help him, not willing to abandon him a second time. He struggles with the frustration of amnesia/the fact he's a fairytale character, and Emma comes to terms with the realization that she has fallen in love with the Hook version of him.
[sequence of events are told out of order; also Hook has two hands in SB. Reason: like when Emma couldn't see August's wooden leg because she didn't believe, he thinks he has both hands (and you can thank Colin for this. It's his fault for not going around one hand less in his movies)]
