We were honored to celebrate Gregg Petersmeyer, chairman of America's Promise Alliance and recipient of the George H.W. Bush Lifetime of Service Award at the George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards Celebration on October 6 in Washington, D.C.
As the founding director of the White House Office of National Service, Gregg helped shape a cultural movement around civic engagement—one rooted in the belief that “any definition of a successful life must include serving others.” Under President George H.W. Bush, Gregg led the creation of the #DailyPointofLight Award and helped elevate volunteering as a national value.
