Anil Mahato | Honor of Climbing Mt. Everest in 1988 We Found in Rubble (Nepal Earthquake) @AnilMahato | Uploaded June 2015 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.
We were distributing earthquake relief supplies in my friend's remote village of Nepal, Katunje, Dhadhing. It turned dark when we finished distribution. We went to see his house other morning. We were estimating how much damage both earthquake of 25th april & 12th may has made along followed by strong storm. We were also exploring the items left and buried in rubble. Suddenly, our eyes went to a black certificate under a stone. My friend, Dil Gurung got surprised to see, it once he saw, a beautiful smile came in his face and suddenly said, hey hey look the certificate of my dad's Mt. Everest climbing. I was like wow. I was not knowing his dad had climbed Mt. Everest till summit.
His father's name is Late. Padam Bahadur Gurung.He died in 2005 due to lack of proper medical care. While he was working in field at night only in moon light, he stepped in some thorn which lead to serious wound. After few days he because of infection in leg.
He had climbed several other mountains
including Mt. Everest.
Mt. Lhotse (4th highest peak) - 8,516 metres (27,940 ft)
Mt. Makalu (5th highest peak) - 8,485 metres (27,838 ft)
Mt. Dhaulagiri (7th highest peak)- 8,167 metres (26,795 ft)
Mt Manaslu (8th highest peak) - 8,163 metres (26,781 ft)
Mt. Annapurna (10th highest peak)- 8,091 m (26,545 ft),
any many other.
