Celebrating rising talents in Hong Kong’s dynamic film industry.

Hong Kong New Talents trains the spotlight on emerging and early-career directors and creative collaborators in a 6-film season that showcases a range of new voices and reinvigorated genres.

The program comprises Best New Director award-winner Norris Wong’s emotionally astute take on the rom-com, My Prince Edward; Ray Yeung’s affecting queer drama, Suk Suk; Time, Ricky Ko’s blackly comic cross-generational ode to classic golden age and Hong Kong action genres; Cheuk Cheung’s lyrical observational documentary, Bamboo Theatre; Derek Tsang’s Oscar-nominated teen drama, Better Days; and Keep Rolling, a definitive documentary on the fascinating life, film career and living legacy of director Ann Hui by first-time director Man Lim-chung. Hong Kong New Talents confidently asserts the vision and creativity of a younger generation of filmmakers set to make their mark on the international film scene.
