EvilmonkeyzDesignz | Honeywell Silicon Wafer with a hidden secret @EvilmonkeyzDesignz | Uploaded June 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
I found this silicon wafer while browsing on Ebay one day. The seller noted that there was a picture of a dog on it, and as soon as I saw that I knew I had to have it. I'm definitely glad I did, as I also discovered there was a second silicon doodle hidden on this wafer as well.

In this video, I tried out something new. I used my automated microscope to move the wafer as I filmed it. I did this at 50x, 100x, and 200x magnification. My thought was that you would be able to stop the video at any time and see a decent picture of the wafer, since its filmed in 4K 60FPS. How will it actually look after YouTube's compression algorithm is yet to be determined. If it looks okay, I may include this in all future videos.

Thanks to some super-sleuths on Twitter, I'm pretty sure I know what the chip on this wafer is. Twitter user AaroPeramaa pointed out this matches up with part number 5962-03A0302NXB from Onsemi, and I would have to agree. Onsemi (previously ON Semiconductor) purchased the AMI location in Pocatello Idaho.

Searching for this number led me to a PDF link from Mouser, which includes this part. In this document, there is an alternate part number listed: 11788-444. The 11788 number matches the number found on this wafer. This document lists the description as "INTERFACE FOR RING LASER GYRO", which seems plausible. Honeywell does make a few different ring laser gyroscopes, so this definitely seems within the realm of possibility.

If you're interested about the microscope automation, I'm wrapping up that project and I hope to finally have the full video showing everything I did to make it automated. Keep an eye out for that in the future!
