Honda 400EX Affordable Trail Quad Project Build part 1. The Honda 400EX is an ideal candidate for building an affordable, reliable and run trail quad. In this series we purchase and evaluate a used 400EX. We then replace any worn or bent parts to restore its stock performance and add the necessary upgrades to the build to create a long lasting ATV for aggressive trail riding. In this episode, we drop $3,000 on a used Honda 400EX, evaluate its condition, and begin the restoration and build process.
