You may have thought that ol’ Larry’s pedal steel phase had already came and went many years ago…and you would be right ….
but…I recently got the urge to jump back in the fire and bought myself an old 1961 Fender 400
I had no idea how to set up the changes and pedals, so I called my dear old friend and legendary steel guitar man Bruce Bouton.
He was kind enough to burn a Sunday afternoon crawlin’ around underneath this archaic piece of Fullerton history, to help me get it up and running like it’s supposed to.
Bruce is a real country music historian, and I’m glad I had the cameras rolling to capture some of these great stories.
In the world of guitar , the name Steve is the most popular…there are a million great guitar players named Steve….
but in the pedal steel world , Pete is the magic name …Sneaky Pete, Pete Drake, Pete Wade…
