soooo yeah...been a while since a song hasnt it...AHH DONT HIT ME!!!
this one is actually based off true events, moulded into a pony tale of twilight and spike having an argument, and spike (being that age) runs away from home. a simple story, but something that really hits home for me.
when i was low on cash and struggling to make ends meat a few years ago i took up a third job doing the graveyard shift at a petrol station. i'd work all day, then all night. i averaged about 2 hours sleep a day fro a solid month...wasnt nice.
anyway one rainy night an about 15 year old kid walks in and ask's if he could hide out of the rain for a while. i ask him what he's doing roaming about a 2 am and he tells me his dad had just kicked him out of home and never wanted to see him again. my life was rough at the time but me and my old man had a really good relationship . so i couldnt even imagine what this kid was feeling.
anyway i bought him some food, called him a cab, gave him 20 bucks and told him to head down to a homeless shelter nearby. cause its all i knew what to do.
anyway it got me wondering. at what point do you tell your own family you never want to see them again. and at what point do you realise what you said may have been fuelled by anger.
and thats how this song came to be.
anyway enough sob stories. have a download to wipe your teary eyes with:
dropbox.com/s/e6jk859jzze3amf/Homes%20with%20magic%20final.mp3
and some lyrics to blast away the snot rockets:
i know you're cold
the rains out tonight
i know you're looking for
a place to rest your head
i know we said
things that were wrong
in the heat of the moment we got
lost in our words
and now you're alone
wandering the streets
looking for a new home but
homes where the heart lies
homes whith the magic
homes where you're all alone
but you dont seem to care
so lets call this night done
and crawl into bed
ill be right here all night
just rest your head
the moment is gone
regrets all thats left
the arguing is past and now
the feelings are set
right by my side
is where you belong
our halls are empty whenever
we are apart
and now i'm on my own
wondering where you've gone
thinking of where it went wrong but
homes where the heart lies
homes whith the magic
homes where you're all alone
but you dont seem to care
so lets call this night done
and crawl into bed
ill be right here all night
just rest your head
i know you're cold
i'm cold too
i know you're thinking of me
cause i'm thinking too yeah
homes where the heart lies
homes whith the magic
homes where you're all alone
but you dont seem to care
so lets call this night done
and crawl into bed
ill be right here all night
just rest your head
