Well, we all know we need to stop creating so much waste, but here’s a great story about companywide changes that stopped 46 tons of waste per month going to the landfill.
Ben Homan took over as GM of Richmond Glass/HomePlus Nelson in 2019 and spent a lot of time looking into each area of the business, including the cost of waste removal (in dollars and volume). With some minor changes the company has gone from 2-3 skips of landfill waste a week, to recycling pretty much all the rubbish from on site. See what changes he made and how he inspired the whole team to get involved.
