My father in-law gave me an old home-built trailer from back in the late 90's. The thing used to have a plywood floor and 2x3 sides which also mounted the fenders. I stripped off all the wood, repacked the bearings, hard-mounted the fenders and then threw on a nice coat of Rustoleum and a new deck and sides. Quite the rugged little trailer!
DIMESNIONS:
Trailer = 4'x8' bed, 3' Tongue.
Decking = 5/4 PT, 10ft lengths cut to fit tongue for box mount.
Sides = 5/4 PT, 1 10' cut in half for front, 4 8' for the sides, 2x3" PT custom cut, beveled, and routed to fit the pockets.
Side height = 14"
Hardware = 1/2" carriage bolts, washers, lock washers, nuts.
D-Rings (Harbor Freight) 5/8" Carriage Bolts with nylock nuts and washers.
Decking screws for the decking.
Strapping (under decking bolted to angle-iron cross members) = 2x3" PT
Lighting = Amazon LED light kit, and Amazon 3/4" LED dots
Paint = Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer, and Satin Black on trailer, gloss white on wheels.
FUTURE PLANS:
Build a drop down tailgate, add 2 more D-rings to the back of the trailer.
