This is a scratch built Stirling I built to my own design. The piston is Epoxy glue in an Acrylic tube and the body is of 0.5 mm Aluminium sheet which was cut with metal sheers. I'm labelling it as a LTD (Low Temperature Difference) engine because I think it's fair to say that any homemade engine built on the kitchen counter-top without the use of any machine tools that runs on hot water rather than a flame should count as LTD! She runs for about 10 minutes on a mug of boiled water and then another few minutes if you add ice. Anyway, I'm pretty proud of her : )
