🌿 Hima Niha: Where Heritage Meets Nature Conservation 🌍💚
Under the patronage and in the presence of Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, the Homat Al Hima Forum was held in Niha, Batroun, bringing together local authorities, international organizations, environmental leaders, experts, youth, and members of the local community. 🤝🌱
The Forum marked the official launch of Hima Niha Park and the Hima Niha Plan 🏞️ — a new step toward protecting biodiversity, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and strengthening community-led conservation.
🌳 Assaad Serhal, Director General of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), highlighted the journey of reviving the traditional Hima approach and developing it into a modern model for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development — one that places local communities and young people at the heart of protecting nature. 🐦🌿
💡 Hima is more than a legacy from the past. It is a living approach to the future — connecting nature, heritage, communities and youth through shared responsibility for our natural environment.
