Today is Holy Wednesday! It is a day when many Christians focus their attention on *Fasting *Praying and *Charity.
Through Fasting we are reminded that it is not the things of this world that will sustain us but rather our dependence on God.
We Pray to fill the spiritual need that cannot be sufficed by ourselves or others.
We Give because EVERYTHING that we have is from God. Everything is His to share and our responsibility is to share in return. Traditionally, the money we save by fasting is given to those in need.
Holy Wednesday -- the Wednesday before Easter - reminds us that it is only through our relationships with others that we can have a fulfilling relationship with God.
In this video -- a Franciscan Friar teaches us why it is also called "Spy Wednesday".
