I read the manga shortly after the movie and rapidly connections started to form in my head that I haven't seen expressed elsewhere. A historical framing does much to help us understand a fundamental reason why these two works are different.
There are many, many topics that aren't covered: ways that you can extend this analysis or use completely different axes of comparison. Maybe some of them will appear in a future video!
