Silksong is here! Training for Steel Soul, I decided to record relatively clean battles vs every boss. Rules for each are simple; no tools, crests, or skills besides the default Hunter and Silkspear, no healing, and my attacks deal half damage (via mod)
Moorwing is the first boss that gave me trouble, and 90% of the reason why are the projectiles in phase 2. The trick, as it turns out, is to simply walk away after jumping over the first one. This one bit of info turned Moorwing from one of the hardest act1 bosses for me, to a very very simple matter I may regularly no-hit in real runs. You can punish the pincer projectile with an upslash, but it feels kinda wonky.

Oh look, they made Massive Moss Charger into a real fight! Everything here does double damage and really lets the player know Silksong is upping the ante. I took my very first death of the game here, as it was this fight that I learned that taking damage in the middle of a heal removes all the silk you would have spent on the heal anyway, a rather cruel penalty for carelessly trying to recover.
Anyone struggling on this boss for whatever reason may like to know that sound cues let you know if hes about to jump or charge. If the dust appears under your feet, sidestep and prepare to jump over a bell. If the dust appears at the side of the room and you dont hear it groan, its about to emerge and charge. If you see dust at the side of the room and DO hear it groan, its about to soar overhead. Once phase 2 begins at 50% of its HP (signalled by the bells falling from the cieling for a while) all attacks except the charge will also drop a bell from above. Simple boss but can be a real pain in the ass if you dont think carefully about where you stand. Skills and nail arts can destroy the traps outright, use em to cut a path in a pinch. Hollow Knight: Silksong Boss [Gurr the Outcast]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/IfHbqZgpGBs/mqdefault.jpg)

The end of Act 2! The bad ending final boss is pretty pathetic, honestly. She has a very limited moveset and quite low HP for the type of boss she is. On the other hand, she has access to a rare (only?) 3 damage attack which I got hit by somewhat on purpose just to show it off and has spectacle. I suspect a lot of the reason shes so easy is the Twisted Child ending, which ACTUALLY disables your heal and tools like it or not.
I did leave two bosses you can fight in act 2. The first, because there is no reason to enter their area until act 3 anyway, the other because it has difficulty on par with the big 4 heart bosses in act 3, so Im lumping it in with them.
