(note: aircon does operate properly, what I was trying to say was badly said in the video, should have the engine running first)
The serious temptation with this vehicle is to keep it and register it, but it's another 1300 dollars if I did so, just under half that cost there is the compulsory third party green slip comprehensive insurance required on this vehicle for a twelve month term (500 dollars was the cheapest quote).
The time I bought this in September 2024, the vehicle was in disrepair by poor maintanence. I had been told it had recently been serviced, but the oil was black as night, the fuel filter was revolting when I dislodged it, and the oil showed the only thing possible to do was replace the oil filter.
At the time I tested the vehicle with the previous owner, before leaving the parking lot when I put the foot brake on a few times with the same pressure at crawl speed, I noticed the compressed resting position of the brake pedal was different each press, and at the turn into the road , the pedal actually sunk to the floor!
When I drove it around the block, the transmission skipped into high gear.
Having taken down motorcycle transmissions, and combine harvester transmission and standard vehicle transmission (auto planetary gears and bands) gearboxes , the gamble was whether the gear change fluid port was blocked or simply out of fluid, the transmission probably leaked away fluid from one pipe I found loose over years!
It's possible it had never been serviced in its entire lifespan, but also not ever used much it seems. Most everything else was reasonably tight!
It really needed TLC , it is now likely to pass rego full stop!
2.0L natural aspirated diesel, automatic 5 speed, 7 seat, wagon,
AWD,
Air Conditioned,
Reverse audio sonar,
Power steering ok (small whining at full lock, has had a fluid oil new for old swap a couple of months back)
Bought as a project for second car (running into time).
Unregistered, probably pass pink slip, very little to do if it didn't pass.
Had new oil filter and new fuel filter.
New Automatic transmission fluid (specification type by manufacturer)
(Should said too)New engine oil! (High grade)
Near new tyres.
Low km's 177056
Engine runs well starts easy.
Note: replaced master cylinder, brakes fine.
Brake pads 40 percent either front or rear.
Paint a little flayed pattern (probably sun exposure - only seen at close up) , alike driven through bushes but otherwise ok for vehicle of such age.
Panels and fenders, no dents noteworthy, quite ok.
