In 1994 I spent New Year's Eve with some of the world's most infamous hackers in Austin, Texas. Hohocon was a hacker conference that predates Defcon and was hosted by members of the Cult of the Dead Cow (cDc) along with Erik Bloodaxe from the Legion of Doom (LOD) and Phrack Magazine. On this episode I talk about what it was like to attend a hacker conference toward the end of the bulletin board system (BBS) days, in the dawn of a new era... the INTERNET!
