The Bulgarian State Railways are one of the oldest in Europe. They cover more than 4,200 kilometers, providing passenger and freight services.
Hitachi Energy supplied them with a dynamic reactive power compensation solution that helps improve power quality across the rail network. With PQC-STATCON and power quality monitoring equipment from Hitachi Energy now installed at five substations across Bulgaria, the National Railway Infrastructure Company expects to maintain enhanced power quality across its network, enjoying such added benefits as higher reliability and availability of the supply network, improved energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs for its equipment.
