"Picture an island, on the edge of imagination..."

The fourth instalment of our History on Stage series transports you to the western reaches of the Roman Empire — Britannia. Here, in the year 410 and far from Rome itself, three Romano-Britons live in a time of uncertainty. They share their feelings and their fears as the protection of empire looks less and less assured.

Written and performed by Time Will Tell Theatre, this video is an abridged version of a longer play originally commissioned by English Heritage in 2010 to mark the anniversary of the end of Roman rule in Britain.
