Who invented glasses? As in, who first put lenses in front of their eyes to see better? Also, who invented sunglasses?
The history of glasses is super interesting and has some twists involving monks, walruses, and gladiators.
In this video, we break down:
- The history of normal glasses used to correct vision errors
- The history of sunglasses used to reduce glare and excessive sunlight
- Key glasses innovations throughout the last several thousand years
Over 4 billion people across the world now use glasses to see better, and calculating the number of people who use sunglasses is close to impossible.
While I'm not the biggest history buff, diving into this was fascinating to me!
