In the first half of the 20th century Fremont Street was the center of town, known for its gambling, alcohol and yes, prostitution. But Glitter Gulch, which combined bright neon lights with Old West-themed businesses such as the Hotel Apache and Pioneer Club, eventually took a back seat to the Las Vegas Strip and its megaresorts.
