Mission 1 was launched on December 2, 2006, from Onești, Bacău County.
A solar balloon built by ARCA lifted into the stratosphere the Stabilo capsule that was then recovered by its parachute.
The balloon program aimed at creating the capability to launch rockets from balloons from high altitude, allowing the rockets to be smaller and lighter.
