The Chimes Building, constructed in 1929 and designed by the architectural firm that later designed the Empire State Building, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to mark the completion of a more than $40 million redevelopment.
SEED Syracuse transformed the former office building into 152 apartments, including market-rate, affordable and subsidized units.
The project sits directly across the street from Salt City Market, another mixed-use development that includes housing.
