This is a commercial which was uploaded to the official My Little Pony channel some time ago. It is notable for being horribly animated; so much so that it's actually quite entertaining to examine closely and pick apart animation errors.
It appears as though the ponies were animated from scratch using cheap puppet warps, cobbled-together assets, and at times they were even extracted from the show then needlessly put against a green screen. [For example, Applejack's green eyes are keyed out at one point, and the green fringing is even more prevalent.] It's astounding that someone who doesn't even know what an alpha channel is could be paid money to create a commercial and have that commercial uploaded to a channel with millions of viewers. The inconsistent models, clipping issues, and general animation errors are truly a work of art and deserves to be enjoyed in HD.

Original description:
Children of the Night is a fan based animated project developed solely by two people. That would be me, Spirit, and my husband, Lion.
It tells the tale of what woud have been the origin of Nightmare Night, and the catalyst element that forced Celestia to banish Luna.
After defeating Discord, Canterlot was witnessing a very slow recovery. Misery could still be found everywhere around, specially for the ponies that had less means.
Luna thought that expanding the kingdom and founding a new pony colony elsewhere would give a solution to the problem, allowing the ponies that she would choose for the matter, a new brand future. Celestia refused the proposal of her sister to scatter Equestria. For after such a great lack of harmony she thought it could shatter the kingdom forever.
Being denied and in the shadow of her own sister, Luna decided it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...
