HILAL THE CRESCENT follows a pregnant mother rushing to the hospital after a sudden bombing, a story experienced from within the womb. Told from an intimate and vulnerable perspective, the film reframes violence, fear, and survival through the fragile awareness of a life not yet born.

Malaysian-born and now based in South East London, Hakim Ismail is an illustrator and animator whose practice blends tactile textures and personal storytelling, shaped by his love of oil pastels, cage football, and One Piece.
