Hiking in Zion National Park this winter? Planning a trip for spring break? Zion is experiencing snowpack levels nearly 200% higher than average according to the Utah Department of Natural Resources. Expect trails in the park to have snow or ice, even if the forecast is sunny.

Park Ranger Ashlyn takes us up the West Rim Trail to Angels Landing and to show just how icy and snowy trails can be even after days of sun.

The best thing to do before your hike is plan like a ranger: bring traction devices, layers, plenty of food, and water.
