Have you ever gotten the chance to hike up the side of Mount Vesuvius? Well, I have. And I’m sure that you can tell by my choice of outfit that I was definitely not prepared to partake in this hike that day haha

Vesuvius is an active volcano that rises above the Bay of Naples in southern Italy near modern day Naples. It is famous for its catastrophic 79 AD eruption that buried the nearby cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

The last time it erupted was in 1944, which makes it the only volcano on Europe’s mainland to have erupted in the last hundred years. It is regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because 3,000,000 people currently live near enough to be affected by an eruption.
