Hiking truly puts you in touch with yourself. It also cultivates a lot of persistence. We have been hiking in some interesting places around the world. Staying with the locals is an eye-opening experience. Last week we went hiking through the Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, China. This is one of the largest canyons in the world with a vertical drop of 3900 m from the snow capped mountains to the rapid stream cutting through the bases of the mountains.
