If you've been hiking for long you've likely heard of the famous "Ten Essentials" - which is a list of gear items you should always have with you when hiking (there are several and they do not all agree). Here I go into a minimalist gear setup that I can take with me by itself or toss into any pack to be sure I have what I need even if I am in a hurry.
