RealityMaps produces photo-realistic, high detail 3D city models, in collaboration with Elektra Solar GmbH. Image orientation and 3D reconstruction are performed with RealityCapture, reducing significantly the processing time and keeping the highest possible detail level. These 3D city models are then used in many areas of public administration and private enterprises. In the environmental field, 3D city models are used to simulate the city climate, in noise protection or in the search for roof areas for the production of solar energy. In urban planning, tourism and business development, a virtual 3D city model supports planning processes and citizen participation on the Internet.
