Erren Franklin is a filmmaker from California who works primarily with small-gauge analog film, drawn to the immediacy and imperfections of 8mm formats like Super 8. His latest project — a music video for Highly Suspect’s “Run for Your Death (More Pills)” — was shot entirely on Super 8, with every frame captured exactly as it appears in-camera, without digital effects or post-production manipulation. He directed, shot, and edited the piece to evoke the raw, volatile nature of analog film — layering distortion, movement, and texture to mirror the song’s driving momentum and the unraveling emotion in Johnny's lyrics.
