In this video I am sharing with you my personal experience of going through toddlerhood with a highly sensitive child. It involved a lot of trial and error, a lot of crying, grief and drama. BUT we earned so much wisdom thanks to the research we did, asking for help and advice from: books, teachers, parent coaches. And friends, to vent with, over a cup of coffee.
I hope you will find comfort along with the practical advice I share in this video. Especially if you are a highly sensitive adult/were a highly sensitive child yourself, I feel you will relate with my experience. And hopefully benefit from it.
Please remember: there is no shame in feelings and emotions. There should always be a way/ opportunity to express them. Not every now and then, but in daily life. Toddlers just need to learn how to understand what they feel; how to communicate it with us, so we can help them regulate; and how to let all those feeling out without hurting others.
There is no shame in feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated in a world that moves way too fast. There are ways and tools that can help us stay human and honor our nature and our children's nature in this inhumane world.
