Sharmila is deeply committed to supporting access and inclusion through education and economic opportunities for underserved populations through her work in the community. In 2021 she was appointed to the National Association of College Trustees – Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee and is the Chair of the Board of Trustees at Highline College.
