Presentation Overview:
Following wildfires and other disasters, artistic projects that take place in public spaces can enhance the recovery processes of affected communities. In this presentation, four case studies from Australia will exemplify how community-centered arts projects can bring people together to process challenging emotions and make meaning from their experiences, strengthening social cohesion and building community resilience.

About the Speaker:
Anna Kennedy-Borissow is a researcher, educator, arts manager, and theatre maker based in Melbourne, Australia. She is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy – Arts at the University of Melbourne, where she researches community-engaged arts programs following disasters that improve psychosocial well-being.
Anna is recognized as an expert in this field, frequently presenting at national and international conferences, industry events, and in the media. Previously, Anna worked at non-profit organization Regional Arts Victoria, managing tours for performing artists and delivering professional development programs for artists and community organizations. Prior to that, she worked as a creative producer, actor, and theatre maker.
