I need an adjustable high voltage DC supply for over 30kV. This is my attempt at a test rig. Above 30kV the experiment needs to go under oil as it becomes difficult to prevent corona and flashovers. Even under oil quite strong flows develop due to DC charges migrating in the oil. This can be seen on this video where bubbles move around in the oil.
I think I will soon need better capacitors in the doubler as they are rated at 15kV and I have seen the odd internal flashover.
