In this Maker Faire Shenzhen 2025 interview, Joshua Ni introduces AnyExplorer, an open-source seismic monitoring system developed as part of the AnyShake project. AnyExplorer combines three-axis geophones with an LSM6DSR accelerometer to detect local ground motion with high precision. Both the hardware platform and software tools are fully open source.

The board includes GNSS for accurate timing, three sensor input channels, and RS485 output for integration with other systems. It runs on a 12 volt DC supply. Joshua shows the AnyShake demo station in Taiwan, where users view realtime waveforms, station status, and event logs. Historical data is available through a temp query tool, with export options in MiniSEED, SAC, and audio formats.

The control panel supports data export for third party analysis. Joshua invites users to join the community on Discord for help, collaboration, and deployment questions.
