Today we’re checking out a house that’s been sitting abandoned for about 16 years, and honestly, this one caught my attention immediately. The house is buried back in the woods. You can’t see it from the road, and if you didn’t know it was here, you’d probably drive right past it and never realize an entire home was hidden back there. From what I could find, a husband and wife bought this place in 1997 and raised two kids here—a son and a daughter. Beyond that, the trail kind of goes cold. I spent way too much time trying to find information on this family. Social media, old records, anything. And I came up with almost nothing. So when that happens, the house itself becomes the story. As we started looking around, little details about the family began to show up everywhere. They had at least a couple large dogs and a cat. The son’s room was full of RC cars, rockets, and all the stuff you’d expect a young boy to be into. The daughter’s room had artwork, music, paintings—she was clearly the creative one of the family. The dad seemed to be a huge car guy. There were die-cast cars all over the place, and from what we found, he even owned a Fox Body Mustang at one point. And the mom… honestly, she seemed like the person who made this house feel like a home. Family photos, decorations, little touches everywhere. You can tell she cared about this place. Which is what makes this so strange. Because when you walk through this house, it doesn’t feel like a place where something terrible happened. It feels normal. It feels like a family that was living their life, making memories, raising kids, and then one day… it all stopped. The question is why. Why leave everything behind? Why let a house sit empty for over a decade? And where is this family today? We’re going to search every room we can and see if we can piece together what happened here.
