Play ball! ⚾

The Chicago Cubs make their Art Institute debut—just in time for their 2026 home opener. This painting, a preliminary work for the final version of “The Dugout," is the first piece by Norman Rockwell to join our collection.

Learn more about the artist and his depiction of Chicago's beloved Cubbies with Sarah Kelly Oehler, our Field-McCormick Chair and Curator, Arts of the Americas, and Vice President of Curatorial Strategy.
