Matt Burgess is Assistant Professor of economics and a Presidential Fellow at the University of Wyoming. His research focuses on political polarization, climate change economics, and natural resource management. He also does outreach aimed at understanding and reducing political polarization, especially as it relates to environmental issues and college campuses. He hosts the Grounded, Not Divided podcast and writes the Guided Civic Revival Substack newsletter.
Andrew Dessler is a climate scientist and Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University, focusing on the intersection of climate change with society. He has authored several
textbooks on climate science and policy and served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dessler's work encompasses studies of water vapor and cloud feedbacks, stratospheric chemistry, and analyzing climate extremes and their impact on infrastructure. With a background in physics and chemistry from Rice and Harvard, he has previously held positions at NASA and the University of Maryland. He is well known for his climate outreach in venues like the New York Times and the Joe Rogan podcast and he recently received the AGU's Climate Communication Award. He is a fellow of the AAAS and AGU.
