He is confident he could not only get votes in New York City but potentially defeat DSA-backed candidate Zohran Mamdani, who ran as a Democrat, and soundly defeated Andrew Cuomo for mayor. Portnoy also believes he could score a goal in a World Cup match. He would no doubt run as a MAGA Republican and likely be trounced in an election.
