Discussion exploring how visual depictions of Achilles and Patroklos affect and contribute to an understanding of the two characters. Scenes discussed included: Hector and Achilles chasing each other, chariot races, Achilles' dragging of Hector's body, and Patroklos' representations. Professor Nagy and his colleagues considered how action is either sped up — or slowed down — in visual and verbal art through the use of compression and literary tools such as metaphor.
