After Rome triumphs over its rival Carthage, young Tiberius Gracchus returns to a city of stark contrast. While the wealthy grow richer on the spoils of war, Rome's streets are filled with impoverished farmers who lost their land and livelihoods while fighting for the Republic. Driven by his principles of honour and justice, Tiberius attempts to pass radical land reforms to help the poor, but his efforts are blocked by the Roman Senate. As the conflict escalates, Tiberius's actions set in motion a chain of events that will ultimately lead to his death at the hands of the very aristocrats who once stood behind him, sparking a revolution that changes the course of Roman history forever.
